bonus points if you spot the Nabokov reference
Quiet days at work are frustrating. I would rather be busy and too occupied to notice the hours dragging.
I started writing something in the past week. So far it's just some random paragraphs sketched out on a notepad. I don't know what to say it is yet, because it's not formed enough. I suspect that perhaps I am too young to write this story the way I want it to be done. Maybe it's going to have to live alongside me, and won't come together until I'm older. But I had a dream, where I was talking about the book and said "The Freudians will want to know that I gave the main character Texas, and the job I always wanted to have. As for the rest of it, well, it's hard to say for sure."
Time to go home, buy cigarettes, buy liquor, buy books, and be merry.
