Number One, I fear “rm‘s” comment even though I like the story:
I will never name my kid Harry. I have had more than enough children ask me if I am Harry Potter’s father when I was a substitute teacher… and one who thinks that kids should not be coddled I responded with, “If I was Harry Potter’s father I would be dead.”
I know it could be considered callous but kids need to know the reality of life.
Number Two, I agree to one half of “graphicnovelist” statement:
I vote for Raistlin!
Though not a great man, the metaphor of sacrifice for the ends would work well in light to the naming trend.
