The cycling community up here is the same way--helmet laws are ENEMIES OF FREEDOM! or something, and also they look, like, so uncool. Frankly, after you've seen someone not wearing a helmet fall off his bicycle literally in front of your house, slam his skull smack on the pavement and die, you sort of don't buy that argument. (And I want to yell at all the parents I see riding side by side with their kids: "PUT A HELMET ON THE THREE-YEAR-OLD!")
