relief, or why I should write a letter of complaint to God re: my liver

I am home from the doctor's visit and I'm taking the day off because I deserve it. All my tests were negative - no STDs of any kind, no hepatitis, no HIV, no bad horrible diseases afflicting my liver. In the absence of any other symptoms or problems, the doctor thinks that I just may have a liver that tends to give slightly abnormal test results. (If this were House, he'd probably just give me lots of drugs to determine if I would stop breathing, hah.) There seems to be no sign that I'm dying any faster than the normal rate, which is an enormous relief. I'm going back in a couple months, and they will check it again to see if my results stay in the same range and to make certain it's not getting higher. (It was no higher today than last time.)

In other news I've gained four pounds (sadness) and my blood pressure has dropped from 136/90 to 106/70.

I bought myself a bunch of flowers, because really why not and I almost bought a tree because I *think* I could get a six foot tree in my car if I fold down the back seat. But they didn't have tree stands at the grocery store, alas. I bought a candle that smells like tree instead.

I'm not dying. You have no idea how relieved I am.

Congratulations on the not dying. I am selfishly pleased. The world is a better place with you in it.

yeay! I rejoice with you that all is well and that you have a tree-smelling candle. I hope to get a tree this weekend :)

*hugs* So glad that you received a good report! Don't sweat the four pounds -- with all the stress you've been through with all of this, you have more than earned the right to relax.
