in case you don't see me next week, I'm on a movie binge

Donnie Darko: with Frank the Bunny (James Duval) - February 10th 9:45pm
Would you believe I've never seen this film? I know. I don't know why I never saw it either. I'm kind of scared of the bunny, and a little worried Duval is going to come to the theater dressed in the bunny outfit. Eep.

Love Bites: Power Ballad singalong - February 15th 9:45pm
I have my fingers crossed in hopes that they play all my favorite songs. Does Cherry Pie by Warrant count as a ballad? probably not but I have just admitted to the internet that I loved that song and owned the tape.

Master Pancake Theater: Titanic - February 17th 10:00pm
Somehow, they have pared the film down to 90 minutes. (Praise Jeebus!) Since the Sinus Show is no more, I hope MPT can take up the torch and continue providing us with hours of hilarity. I shudder to imagine what sort of bad jokes can be made about this one. (Another embarassing confessional moment: I actually saw Titanic in the theater on a date.)

Moulin Rouge singalong - February 18th 7:00pm
I forgave Baz Luhrmann for many things when I finally got around to seeing this film, and I'm excited to see it on the big screen finally. The copy on the site for this event is hysterical and sweet.

You know the movie: Christian moves to Paris to pursue a Bohemian lifestyle and then of course falls into a doomed love affair with the most beautiful girl at the Moulin Rouge. But until you've seen the movie and sung the songs and learned that lesson in a movie theater with 200 other heart-swept people, you've never really known what it's like to be in love. Your heart will swell. Your lungs will burst. Bring a date, or else make sure you choose who you sit next to carefully, because you *will* end up falling in love with that person before the credits roll.

Man, I want to go!

You should!

Does Cherry Pie by Warrant count as a ballad?

My vote is "yes" because it's on GH2, and each time my loadup is "If you're going to call your song a power ballad, you'd better be sure."

OMG, seriously? That is sooooooooooo awesome.

[identity profile] locknestra.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
And so... in reading that... I had to go play it twice and I got that loadup screen again (and my fave: If the neighbors complain about the volume, turn it up until they move away.)

Well, you have to have it loud to play right don't you? that is what I've been told anyhow.

[identity profile] colmmcsky.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
yes, that is absolutely true. Whoever told you that is absolutely right. In fact, whoever told you that is probably very smart and handsome.

Ahah. Of course. How could I doubt this person?

Hmm. I loved Warrant too. And had that tape.

I know who put the bodies in the wishing well...

The other songs I really liked on that album were Blind Faith and Mr. Rainmaker. I was just singing loud in my car to Blind Faith last week when it came up on my shuffle play.

I also really liked some songs from the next album...especially "Let it Rain". I used to actually sit outside in the rain in a lawn chair and sing that when I was sad.

I am now going to have to go download all of those songs now. I had completely forgotten "Let it Rain." Man.

I don't think he's ever seen it, but my husband likes Titanic because "you know who" (the male lead...) bites it at the end.

That seems to be a common theme for many, I've heard.
