Oh, I almost fell down. Between the humidity and carrying about 60 kilos of awkward luggage, it was not fun. Oh but the A/C everywhere, the iced tea, and the salsa make up for it so well. :D

They say that the time to recover from jet lag takes a day for every hour difference in your time zone you travelled from--which means you may have a week of jet lag, and then you will be back in your Texas rhythm. (I always bounced back more quickly than that, but I don't need a whole lot of sleep.)

Oh man, a week. Yikes. I had no idea I would feel this wonky when I got home. Eeeeeek. I think I'm going to hide in bed now.

Stop! That's the worst thing you can do. When going East-to-West, as you have, you should try to stay up longer, even if you feel tired. That will get you into the rhythm of the time zone you're in much more quickly.

Then again, what's the big deal if you take a little longer to adjust? The world won't come to an end.

Did you wake up super early today? Did you make it to mass?

I stayed up too late, and woke too early. I could have gone to Mass if my car was here, but I didn't get it back til this afternoon. Which is probably good, cause I was in no condition to drive anyways.

I did unpack and do some laundry. Also went to see my mom and give her lots of little presents fromt he Czech Republic. Had my first bowl of cereal and first hamburger in six weeks today.

Now if I can just make my ears stop hurting I'll be much better...

I am sure your mother was delighted and especially proud of you.

Your previous dizziness and earaches may be related. Time to see your good old American doctor. Don't let it wait too long--doesn't your student health plan cover stuff like that? Go, go, go!

No student health plan for me. I actually have some regular insurance, expensive as it is, just so I can see one doctor for certain things. Though I haven't been to my GP in a few years. I will be going soon though for a check up.

I think I must have problems with changing altitudes and climates. I think the muscle ache is from carrying almost 60 kilos of luggage through five airports yesterday in three countries.. remind me next time to not buy such big dictionaries or so much wine.

Oh and is it ever good wine.. straight from the winery in Moravia that has been working for the Archbishopric since the 13th century. I brought home a few bottles as presents and a couple for myself.

Well, you see, one can't find decent Czech/English dictionaries in America at reasonable prices. Barnes & Noble tried to sell me a crappy one for $75! But I bought some excellent ones for much much less. They just weigh a lot.
