food food food
For whatever reason, we always end up talking about food at work. It's crazy making. It doesn't help that we have a potluck fest once a week in the training department. Today for my unit meeting I made a chocolate cherry pie with a chocolate cookie crust. Mmm, sour cherries and chocolate are the best combination ever. Tonight I need to start working on the dueling brownie dessert I'm making for Friday. (Box brownie mix is handy, I've discovered, to have a starting point.)
It is a comfort thing, I suppose. We eat and gather so that we are away from the caseloads.
Yesterday I ate breakfast tacos for dinner. I was astounded to learn that Mike has lived here for more than a year without ever eating a breakfast taco. (Though, one of my coworkers just admitted she has lived here two years without ever eating Amy's ice cream.) I had tacos with egg, potato, bacon and queso. At one point, I accidentally said potaco, because I couldn't get both words out fast enough.
Please to be genetic engineering a bacon flavor potato now.

I'm convinced that all state workers eat their way through the week... TAHC knew how to throw a good potluck. =)
