Доброй ночи Boris

Boris Yeltsin was the man on top of the tank. I remember seeing him on Headline News, with Don Harrison anchoring the broadcast. (Don Harrison and Peter Jennings were the voices of the news in my childhood.) Yeltsin was a flawed man, but a man who was clearly loved his country and was passionate in such an epic Russian way. It makes me sad, to watch these people pass away. I suppose many people feel like this all time, watching history and the world change.

"Доброй ночи" can be translated as greeting "Good night" but that's the one that would be used in the beginning of a conversation, not the end. "Спокойной ночи" is probably what you wanted:)

I thought as the title of my post it seemed an appropriate way to begin. But I appreciate your suggestion. My Russian grammar has ever been erratic, though that is no fault of my professors.
