it's a digital material world

Damn. I am so disappointed. All full-time AmeriCorps positions have been filled. I want those recommendations back then! I don't want to think about jobs right now. Tomorrow I'll start going through the paper again.

So I'm going to try not fret too much about that.

Ate lunch with Jim and Karen. I'm just out of luck with both of them, as Karen with complain about inauthentic Mexican food and Jim will complain about Americanized Chinese. *sigh* Oh well. I enjoyed my meal. So far this week I've been eating very well, and I should try to keep that up. Need to buy some more oranges.

Karen's loaned me some clothes to wear out this evening, since I'm going to have sushi at Mushashino's tonight. It's a Seventeen moment, with painted toenails and girlish laughter. I don't think I've ever worn an outfit quite like this, and I feel like I'm pretending to be on of those adults you see on the television. Hah. It's grand.

I couldn't do this every time, but it occured to me the last time I painted my toenails was probably at Veronica's house in 1994. Dark shiny green. I walked home from her house in my new sandals and cut my feet up enough to leave scars. We stayed up all night listening to the Smashing Pumpkins and White Zombie.

So I'm going to be happy for the rest of the afternoon, and tonight, and in the morning. I will be, simply because I don't want to be anything else right now.

sounds like a really good day :)

i'm a firm believer in eating well, though, lately, that means veggie sandwiches (you would be surprised how much variety that still leaves, today i had a "mexican" one with avocodo, red onion, and cream cheese/cheese/salsa spread...very tasty, yesterday involved dill, spinach, tomato, etc:)

i've never had sushi. i wonder if i would like it...who are you going with? or is it alone time? :)

sorry about the job thing, you'll find something!

sushi!

Oh, one day you simply must try sushi. It is yummy. More than yummy, it's delightfully delicious. I think you might enjoy it, because the meal is so beautifully presented, and such a tapestry of flavor and texture. It's not all raw fish, and you can have things that are cooked, or even without fish.

My friend Bob offered to take me to dinner, and suggested sushi. So it should be lots of fun. Though I'm starting to think we should have a girls' sushi night sometime soon, get dressed up and pretend to be famous writers or something. :)

when i was at UT my ex and i used to often visit his friend jason in san antonio. jason was dating this girl kristina, i wouldn't even say she was my friend , really.... well, kristina and i used to talk about going out for "girl" time and wearing big fancy hats. like we were socialites. we wanted to go to the opera. in big fancy hats.

sometimes i have a really strong urge to be fabulous! :)

should i ever meet you , i think i will splurge on that hate i've always wanted, and never needed. what do you say? :)

hats!

Oh yes! I love hats! Hats are simply the greatest things for feeling fabulous. I have always wanted to buy a big hat and go to the Kentucky Derbey.

I am so down with getting some fancy hats and hanging out. :)

Huurah for sushi!

I've never had the kind with raw fishies in it. My friend Mel made some once, the veggie kind, and it was yummy. My friend Jaiman's mama brought some in to the dorm where we lived at the time. Very very good, it was Korean though so might not be the same exactly.

But then again, homemade stuff is *always* good :)

PS. sucks about the job :(

Mmm homemade food... it's really nice to be back in my kitchen where I can cook. Though I've never learned to make sushi.

I like just about everything sushi. Except well the sea urchin, but I think it was mostly the texture that I found odd. But everything else, I'll eat. :)

PS: I so don't want to go back to work. Blah.
