horse races
Nov. 21st, 2007 06:57 pmWork felt eight years long. At least there were sandwiches. I made brownies with butterscotch. Then we left a little early. When I walked out of the office, it felt the same as morning - still warm and slightly sticky. By the time I made it home it had dropped several degrees. Finally, we might have some autumn weather.
When I got home, I found that Mike bought me a pony. I have named him Ormonde, after a British racehorse of the late 19th century. He is very soft and large. No one has purchased me a pony since I was about eight, I believe. My two earliest stuffed animals were ponies, a golden one I called Baby Pony and a larger brown one called Daddy Pony. Don't ask me, I was four. I have no idea why I named them so. I also had a bunch of Breyer Horses. My mother loves horses. I've maybe only ridden a half dozen times in my life, but I love it.
The running joke since I got divorced was that I wasn't going to marry again unless someone bought me a pony. Haha.

Date: 2007-11-22 08:25 am (UTC)On a less awww note I know your teeth haven't been your friends for a while? Mine decided randomly to torture me tonight, to the point where I woke up and can't get back to sleep and--
Do you know off hand how much a cavity is? The internet is not being helpful.
This would happen T Day weekend when I'm 800 miles from home.

Date: 2007-11-22 01:59 pm (UTC)Prescription strength Motrin is 800mg (4 regular pills), and you can take it every 4-6 hrs. It put a good-sized dent in the pain, for me... but then eating wasn't the whole point of the day, so ymmv. (Don't overindulge in ibuprofin-type painkillers if you have kidney problems, though, because it's metabolized by the kidneys. Look sad and see if anyone has some old Tylenol-3 to donate to you instead.)
I hope you can still enjoy your visit, and get your mouth fixed asap. Tooth pain sucks.

But looking back on your horse post, I had some of those horses! But my mom threw them out.
