Last week, I spoke to the apartment office about the sound of rats in the wall. they are loud, and there's no way it's mice. Whatever is actually living in the wall is rat size or larger. I might not mind so much, but the sound of their claws and chewing on the sheet rock is unnerving. the office said they weren't going to do anything. Mike went over and found someone who lives in our same building and was told they would make some effort to close up any holes in the walls outside.

They were incredibly loud today. Now, there's a hole in my stairway ceiling at least two inches across. I have a morbid fear that a rat will fall on my head the next time I walk up there. I am so so so annoyed. I'm going to the office tomorrow to raise Cain.

Are you sure they aren't squirrels from hell?

That is the most horrifying thought imaginable. Every time I imagine it, I get the creeps.

Take a zombie with you and feed an office person to it to show that you mean business, I love the book by the way.

It doesn't make squirrel noise, though it could be a possibility. I would be so relieved if it was a squirrel instead.

Wait, what? The office you're renting the apartment from has refused to take care of the rats in the building walls? Am I missing something here? O.o

Yeah, le sigh. This complex, it has been through more management changes than I can count. It is so bizarre. I went in and threatened to call the health department if they didn't do something today.

Um, yeah, seriously. Because they have a legal obligation to clear the vermin from your building! I can't believe they wouldn't. O.o
