Our apartment office put notes on our doors on Monday, between 4 and 5pm. They notified us to vacate the entire stretch of parking area on this side of the complex or "the contractors will tow your car at your own expense." Very little notice to move dozens and dozens of cars. They are supposedly resurfacing the parking lot, which is riddled with cracks and potholes. Yesterday I watched at least four cars be towed away and there were probably more I didn't see. I wonder if there are any people on vacation who will come home to find their car missing.

Yesterday and today they laid down new coverings of tarry, sticky asphalt. What they did not do was fill any of the potholes or cracks, smooth the surface or actually fix any of the problems. I can already see the new surface cracking and warping in the exact same spaces. What exactly this is meant to accomplish, I don't know. I just came home from lunch with Mike and the smell made my head hurt.

Is the smell seeping inside? You're welcome to come over here for the afternoon if you'd like... I could give you that knitting lesson, or you can use Rick's computer to play WoW or something. =) I haven't been on Elune lately because I've dragged myself up to 56 on Sisters of Elune... someday maybe I'll be able to raid with all the folks I met last month.

That sucks, they sound about as with it as The Falls.

This sounds exactly like something my apartment complex would pull.

All that mgmt FAIL is why I'm reading real estate listings for cheap foreclosures to snap up.
