"What with going to kindergarten during the Cuban Missle Crisis and my father taking me to see Dr. Strangelove at age seven, I believed for sure I was going to die in a nuclear apocalypse. Turning twenty came as a rude surprise to me, as I had no real back up plan."
Damn. I felt exactly the same way. Growing up at the end of the Cold War, seeing the Berlin Wall come down and reading too much science fiction, I was sure I would never make it past the year 2000. Recently I looked at the calendar and felt so startled I was planning for something to happen in 2009. Whoa.
