not enough space available, download aborted
There's not enough room on my laptop to play the Lich King beta. I say this after going on a mammoth spree to delete things off my hard drive. Sigh. Just more impetus to put together a desktop gaming machine I suppose.
We are at last in our home, with all the utilities working. It is glorious. I enjoy all the rooms, as opposed to the few I limited myself to in the old space. Because we are slackers, there's still lots of unpacking to do. I pulled out the china for the glass front cabinet, but I can't reach the higher shelves to unpack the crystal glasses. I did put away all the baking pans and silverware, slowly claiming the kitchen space for my own organizational needs. I can't wait to really start using it. Yesterday we made our first meal here, brisket sandwiches. Though the chaotic eating patterns of the weekend and the stress finally caught up to me and I spent most of the evening feeling nauseated and pained.
Koshka seems very happy here. It took him almost no time to become adjusted. The moment I let him out of the carrier he flopped down on the floor belly first as if to say "Oh nice and cool!" He has eagerly explored every space, found his litter box and seems quite content. The kitty approves of the house.
It is nice to write my address without an apartment number. Or to walk out the front door in bare feet to the grass. Or not having any more carpet to deal with at all. We finally had rain yesterday and hopefully there will be more today. The house opens up to an extraordinary amount of light. I think I have finally decided on a mountain laurel for the front yard. Though I did read about a guy who has been growing avocado trees and breeding a type specifically for Central Texas. An avocado tree... the luxury!
I'm doing some rounds of laundry so I can sort out and put away blankets and clothes. I need to make a run to the grocery store because we only have two pieces of chicken and some barbecue sauce in the fridge. Then back to the crazy post office again. During the past week I've not responded to many comments and I'm sorry for the laziness. I have been reading everyone else's journals and keeping up. I'm here, just scattered.
