I think I've managed to unpack most of the glasses and dishes by now. This kitchen feels so much more roomy and inviting than our old one. I think the drawers instead of cabinets below the counter make it so much easier to store things. Restocking the pantry is another thing. I did buy some spices today and olive oil. On the menu for the week: baked rotini with Italian sausage and crimini mushrooms, chicken biscuits with scrambled eggs, lemon dill broccoli and mushrooms and a cheesy strata made on French bread. Nom nom nom.

Koshka has discovered his kitty cave and seems to enjoy sleeping there. I wish I was the cat. His day consists of meals, pets and taking naps in different places.

Yesterday I had my first bath in ages. I stopped taking baths and only had showers at the old apartment because the tub didn't have a slope and the bathroom just wasn't relaxing most of the time. But now I have a bathroom with a high window so there's plenty of natural light and a sloped tub to relax. Happiness. I laid in there and read the most recent issue of Harpers with great delight.

Sometime this weekend I need to commit myself to the process of unpacking and arranging the library. It will probably be an all day affair, so maybe Sunday. I watched Project Runway this morning. I sort of wanted to whack Daniel in the head - hello, drag queens! That dress looked like something out of the Jessica McClintock store. Why haven't they aufed Keith yet? I hate his weird obsession with fringe. That outfit was maybe Tina Turner on a bad crack binge where she put her clothes through a shredder and then threw them back on again. Not glamorous or sexy or even fun looking! Stop with the fringe! Despite my annoyance with Joe in general, his outfit was super and he really worked outside his comfort zone to make his client look hot. Varla Jean Merman was super.

Right now I must go walk to the mailbox before the evening rain showers commence, as well as get dinner started. We've had a couple good soaks this week so the yard is all verdant and soft. Still waffling on avocado trees and mountain laurels. I worry if I plant the avocado tree in the front yard, my neighbors will steal all the fruit. Haha. I did find these clay eggs filled with potting soil and marigold seeds at Lowes the other night. They are on the window sill near my chair and I hope they sprout soon.

I wish I had a tub with a sloped back. I miss taking baths. Also, can you send me the recipe for the baked rotini with Italian sausage?

Reading your description of your day has made me incredibly jealous.

Keith "I'll just fringe the crap outta everything"

I loved Terri in this episode, she really came out and I adored her outfit for Acid Betty, who was my favorite drag queen.

But Joe did deserve the win, that pink sailor's suit was FABULOUS!!! And he was completely appropriate in the challenge, didn't try to make sure everyone knew he was straight or make any cheap side-cracks.
