shiny things to make you smile

This is a multipurpose post. It will hopefully do some good for my LJ friend [livejournal.com profile] lilly_rose as well as provide some occupation for my idle hands.

If there's anything scarier than finding out you need surgery for a brain tumor, it's having a brain tumor without any health insurance, at a job too small to quality for FMLA leave and being turned down by the government agencies that one might imagine would help. Fortunately the tumor was benign and she's now recovering at home - but she needs help.

So - if you can spare a dime, a dollar, an unused pizza gift card, or anything to help [livejournal.com profile] lilly_rose then I will make you something shiny. I have boxes of beads languishing in my library closet, everything from glass faux pearls to shiny stones to tiny foiled seed beads. (Some random things I have made are here and here and here) You can comment here or message me through LJ or email me to tell me what colors you like, if you want a bracelet or a necklace and where to send it.

No need at all to make me anything :) I'll see what I can put together this weekend when I've rested up a bit.

I totally get this situation for reasons I can't really discuss on LJ, believe me. :(

How do we donate...where do we send the $$$?

I've made a small donation (just wish it could be more), and hopefully things will work out for her.

I'd been pondering donating anyway, but bribery works. I love shiny! and am esp. fond of green/cream shades. as I'm fat, bracelets/necklaces need to be a bit longer than average.

Dear [redacted],

You have sent a payment of $10.00 USD to LillyElizabeth@xxxx.com.

This transaction will appear soon in the Recent Activity list on your Account Overview.

I honestly don't have anything to give right now, but I'm pulling for her.

I'll say a prayer.
