Today I read 80 pages in a different book. Something of a relief. It's a memoir, of a woman from Japan. So maybe after reading that I can try the Mishima again or just move onto to something entirely different.

I love memoirs, especially of lives I will never lead.

We had a delicious multi-course meal to celebrate Mike's five years of work. It was French and fun. I am quite stuffed with the pate, the duck, the scalloped potatoes, asparagus, wine, chocolate orange pot de creme and cappuccino. It was happiness.

I wore my beautiful necklace that Stacy gave me. It's geometric leaves of amber, light to dark. It looks really amazing.

Speaking of Mishima, if you're a cat lover never read The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea. Just, you know, fair warning.

I'm totally jealous of your French meal. I want wine! Waaaaaah!

Duly noted! I really want to get my way through the Mishima but it feels like hitting a wall.

I might just give up and read cookbooks for a month.

I tried him a few times and just couldn't manage it. Also, the day I finally acknowledged to myself I hated Thomas Hardy and never wanted to read him again was a liberating one.
