Earring carousel

Earring carousel, originally uploaded by tsarina_amanda.

I have something like 75 pairs of earrings on this right now. I keep finding earrings tucked away in odd places and probably have a few more pairs somewhere. I only had two earrings without mates after sorting all afternoon and cleaning up the table. My earring club subscription from Wyrding Studios has been active since February 2006. Five years now! In case you ever wondered what five years of earrings looks like, this is probably a good start. Things I noticed - I have a lot of green things, and a lot of things with fantastic crystals.

this is like a work of art in itself. Makes me wish I could wear non-gold earrings!

I have a nickel allergy, so surgical stainless works best for me. If you have the patience for it, coating the wire/stud with clear nail polish works to protect your ear from metals you can't usually wear. I find I have to clean and reapply polish every third or fourth time I wear the earrings, but it's worth it for ones I really really love.

Also, oooh, shiny. I would try to set that someplace where it can make rainbows for the cats to chase and/or sit on. :)

Almost all earrings can have the hooks replaced with nothing more than a small pair of pliers, and if you want to wear silver earrings grey niobium hooks aren't obtrusive and usually work for people with metal allergies - it's a very inert metal. It's pretty easy to get a bunch of earwires and just swap them out.
