A lot of lightning to the south and east, sparking in the dark. Every few seconds there is another flash. Earlier the rain came just before sunset. The western sky was half clear, so the cherry red sun turned the light of the world rose gold. It's a color I can only recall seeing in summer. With the rain came my favorite smell, water on hot concrete and asphalt. It was so beautiful, it made up for the pain of going to the store at dinner time in the rain.

I mighta felt better about that colour had I not known (being a storm-watcher for close to fifty years will do this) that the green-yellow sky colour is a warning marker for wild weather--hail at the least, tornadoes if you're really unlucky. Seeing that kind of a sky is an "oh, HELL" moment.

I didn't catch any of that greenish yellow tint here on the far northern end of town. (And I know that color you're talking about.) It was much more orange. Looking down Parmer to the west, it was like the sky was on fire.

The light was glorious. Then ... the rain was just so nice.
