some days! or I fucking hate facebook

threeplusfireSo. I hate, hate facebook for a lot of reasons. But I have an account because it allowed me to get in touch with someone dear to me and some people I know don't update about their lives anywhere else. However, my facebook account is not linked to my email address that I use for most communication. Like everything else that spams my email and clogs up my internet tubes, I send all that stuff to an old yahoo account that serves such a purpose. But apparently I have no notifications turned on at all for my twitter account.
All those assorted facts lead to an incredible communication fail recently. I got a facebook message from some girl I didn't know, didn't recognize and promptly forwarded it to the spam filter in my gmail. When I figured out this was a joint birthday celebration with a friend much, much later, I also figured out I didn't have this friend added on the book of faces. But the messages were still going to my gmail for some reason, I couldn't see the event on facebook from my account and everything ended up in the trash. Since I wasn't getting any twitter notifications either because I just look at the website, I didn't realize I had numerous twitter messages either.
It all makes me feel dinosaur like on the damned internet. Mostly because I hate facebook and I hate that I have to use facebook when email works perfectly well and does not involve facebook. Then I wonder if I'm becoming one of those old people who refuse to adapt and I fucking despair.
I swear I'll use Google+ instead.
