threeplusfireEvery year, I imagine I'll write my Yuletide assignment quickly but that never happens. Instead I do as I always do, chewing the idea until it turns into something different. This year has felt harder than before because my recipient doesn't have a dear author letter to spark my imagination. I'm more worried now that I'll write something they hate because I have no idea what sort of fic they enjoy.
Today, I tried to do some chores in hopes that physical labor would clear my mind. It did not help much. But I cleaned some things and did some laundry and took out the trash. Not much progress on the story and the floor still needs robot attentions. But some other things are clean! I keep thinking I should walk down to the mail box, but I'm listening to the Yogscast stream. It's hilarious when Lewis starts telling people not to swear but then forgets himself and says fuck anyhow while Civ 5 crashes on them. (I made a second donation to their charity project with Oxfam and Lewis read my name on the livestream. Awww, yay. Day made. Goats given.)
Tonight we're going to see the original Ocean's 11 at the Drafthouse. Should be fabulous.
