I can't believe that number is only in the thirty thousands, and there are millions of journals now. Eleven years as of today. I was tired of screwing around with a crappy Geocities page and didn't want to get involved in setting up my own page and buying a domain because I've never had any real proficiency with HTML. I was bored, working nights at a dot com and going to the university by day.

I've survived the hardest moments of the past eleven years knowing I could always write here, and the friendships I've made here are some of the strongest I have known. So many things have happened and my first thought has been "I need to make an LJ post about that..."

Thanks for being here LJ, for being the journal I couldn't bring myself to destroy and for being such a wondrous thing in the wired world.

I know what you mean about that low journal ID--I've got one too, and I can't make myself give it up completely 'cos I know what kind of consistency and longevity that indicates.
