I read that this morning and wanted to cry forever. I remember being in the principal's office, angry and afraid, while they told me it was really just my fault and threatened to punish me instead. I remember "peer mediation" with the guy who threatened to rape me, as if that was some kind of solution. I remember being told I could get suspended if I kept being the problem, not the lunatic teacher. No one at my school gave a goddamn until I tried to kill myself and ended up in the hospital.
Internet, you do a lot of fucked up things. But I love you when you magnify the power of our voices to make people pay attention to something, to even just one person and one situation.
