We went to the movies but the projector was broken! The nice dude at the Drafthouse gave us some raincheck tickets. Because we were already there, we decided to have dinner at the Highball. It was a magnificent choice. Originally I ordered the curry chicken soup, but they were out and only had this cream of asparagus. The waiter didn't charge us for the soup because of the mix up with the kitchen. We ate the house chili on corn chips, fried tamale balls and onion rings, along with banana pudding and decadent chocolate mousse. Plus I had a lovely Moscow Mule that was the perfect balance of smooth and tart. It was one of the nicest, most lovely and delicious meals I've eaten in ages so I made sure to tell the waiter before we left.

I cleaned up around my computer desk and rearranged the cables to make life easier. I'm already happier.

I feel really good. I hope that lasts.

Tonight the moon was a slender upturned crescent, with Jupiter straight above and Venus just to the left. It was gorgeous.

The Highball always knocks it out of the park. The food is outstanding, the drinks expertly made, and the staff are amazing.

The next time you go, I recommend either the meatloaf sandwich (they know to offer it cold!) or the fried chicken.
