get out of the office
Dec. 29th, 2000 12:30 pmNo more daytime hours for me.. we'll see if the company still even exists after the first of the year. All very mysterious.
Melynda demands I watch football. Um. It is my college team playing, but do they really care? I can't fathom her obsession with football. We're talking about a girl who is going to start a Longhorn Tattoo Scholarship when she graduates. Everytime we met in Metro, she would rattle off this complex numbering system that had something to do with our team and which bowl game we would play. It makes no sense to me, and frankly I have no interest. So I smile and nod, and wait for her to notice she hasn't done the crossword yet.

remembering his smile
Dec. 29th, 2000 03:32 pmSoon I'm going home, to take a long bath & shower, eat some dinner, and wait til C. gets off work. I've missed him, I realized. He's so like me, like a twin brother almost. Coincidence that we are both Geminis.
I love you C.
We rode the bus together in high school. This wacky old man named George drove our bus and basically let the kids run wild. One day during a fight, George looked up in his rearview mirror and shouted, "Hey you kids, don't you get any blood on my seats okay?" Soon people were riding our bus home even if they didn't live in the neighborhood, just to enjoy the carnival atmosphere and smoke in the back. Eventually someone reported George and the school replaced him with a large irate man.
When they assigned seats, C. and I said we were siblings so we could sit together. I bit him once and left teeth marks in his wrist. We had such fun that year, taking walks in the dark. We would sneak out at night, and our friend Coco would drive us down to Metro so we could drink coffee and stay up all night.
I want to show him my apartment, tell him about all the growing up I've done lately. I want to listen to his voice, hear about Spain and California and everywhere he has been. Maybe we'll go out and smoke cigarettes, pretend to be the adults we wanted so badly to be once upon a time.

I'm singing along to my cd that Rose so kindly made me. It's the greatest mix I've been given ever. She made me one for happy times, and one for sad times, and they work so well. Even when I'm sad I can listen to this one and be uplifted.
I think my team is winning. I hope you're screaming your lungs out Melynda!
Soon, soon I get to see C.! We're going to stay up all night, drinking coffee, singing to each other and finishing each other's sentences.
I don't think I'll ever make a stable adult cause the mood swings are so powerful and so unpredictable.
there's a hole in the ceiling down through which I fell there is a girl in the basement coming out of her shell there are people who will say they knew me so well I may not go to heaven but I hope you go to hell the comet is coming between me and the girl who could make it all clean out there in the shadow of the modern machine walks st robinson and his cadillac dream come on darling let's just get into my car and drive
