RUSSIA: DEFENDERS OF THE FATHERLAND DAY
"Defenders of the Fatherland Day" has taken the place of the Soviet
"Army Day" on February 23. It is a day to recognize the military and
its veterans. Wreaths are laid at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in
Moscow. This particular date commemorates a 1918 clash with German
troops that went down in history as the inauguration of the Red Army.

When I should be looking at my notes or getting ready to leave the house, I'm here staring. Sometimes I really wonder. Nightmares over and over again last night and perhaps that is why it is so hard to keep moving this morning. I can't figure out what I want to say. I should go now, before I miss my bus. I'm tired of fighting about my inability to explain why I care.
