Also known as the Qing Ming ("Clear and Bright") Festival or as
Remembrance Day of the Dead, this festival honors the dead in China.
Families go to cemeteries to maintain the ancestral graves and present
food, wine, and flowers. Paper money is burned at the graves to
provide ancestors with funds in the afterworld. A day for family
outings, many people picnic while reaffirming their filial piety.
