First Communion Dresses
Apr. 29th, 2001 12:32 pmAt Mass this morning, I saw twin girls. Red hair to their shoulders, glasses, wreaths of silk rose buds and glass beads on their heads. Identical to the point of strangeness. They wore incredible First Communion dresses. White silk edged with a dusky rose like something by Vera Wang. I am almost positive I saw those dresses in Wang's bridesmaid collection. Anyways, they were so lovely to watch. I wonder if I will ever have children.
Debra asked me to speak to the RCIA group about my first year as a Catholic. I'm touched that she asked. The RCIA team has always been so supportive of me. When I run into them at Mass, or outside of church, they always come up & hug me, ask how I'm doing. I talked to Deacon Tom and Steve, and this summer I will start working as part of the team. I'm going to sponsor someone joining the church. Which seems like such an incredible thing when I think about it. Me, of all people. It seems a good way to give back and to be involved.
I am so happy to be Catholic.
