Well, I learned that South First is a totally different First Street than the one that runs east/west across town. Grrr. Damn those people with their mail order degrees who planned this city. long story short, Bob and I wound up driving around almost to the airport and never did find the firespinning practice. Whoops. It turned out alright, as we dropped by Kit's house and ended up hanging out at Eric & Stacy's. They have a nifty house out off Parmer, with a pool, hot tub, and adorable fluffy cats.

(Goodness, the internet has made me meet more people in my town than years of college have. ha!)

Slept late this morning, and woke up from photorealistic dreams. I did manage to get quite a bit done today. My AmeriCorps application went out Priority Mail, we have stuff to clean the bright pink cherry cola stain out of the carpet, and the kitchen is shiny-clean.

Yesterday we rented movies and bought ice cream, cherry cola, frozen pizza and potato ships. (which balances out all the yogurt, fruit, vegetables and milk in the fridge I think) While Karen and I were having a lazy college student afternoon, we managed to spill cherry cola and broken glass all over the coffee table, the couch and the beige carpet. Oh so un-fun. Karen got a nasty cut, and I have some random scrapes from picking up glass shards.

Today we are Productive College Kids, cleaning up the apartment. I scrubbed our kitchen back into shiny, advertisement ready state, and vacuumed. Even cleaned up my mess of a bedroom. Though the closet counts as another room, and I never said I would clean the closet today.

After all the cleaning and driving, nothing is better than a cold shower and layng ont he couch with a towel wrapped around your head.

This random account of 24 hours in my life brought to you by Texas sunshine, cherry cola, and my vacuum.

The Weatherbug sent me a sad email asking why I hadn't clicked on it lately. All I could think about was a lonely little computer program, waiting for me to come play with it. Poor Weatherbug! It's not your fault, I've been out of town and my computer is broken. I'm going to download you onto Karen's machine.

Yes, I have always had this odd habit of attaching personalities to inanimate things. Maybe it was because I was so lonely as a kid. I don't know. Perhaps it is just easier for me to be friends with an icon and a useful program than most people. I'm not sure.
