Work went by rather quickly for a Saturday. I kept forgetting it wasn't Sunday really. Only an hour on the register, a little bit of time at the buy table late in the day while Andrea worked on the drawers. Mostly I worked on my sections. In the morning, an enormous number of books were sold to us, including dozens of cookbooks. I managed to fit them all into my shelves, and clearance a new batch. Very fun work. Then I worked through the photography section, and part of the biographies. I like the process of marking down the books simply because it has a definite beginning and end.
Hard to want to go to work when it's so lovely outside. Cold crisp air, bright sunshine. My favorite kind of day. I'd just like to stay home.
Card from my grandmother today. My grandparents offered to pay for my textbooks this semester, always a kind thing. My grandmother also sent me a little bit to buy some clothes or things I need. She's a sweetheart that way. I am looking forward to seeing them next month.
One of my mother's coworkers gave her a neat candle holder. It's black metal, with a round platform to hold a little tea light in glass. In front of this is a black metal cat face, with two green pieces of glass for eyes. When the candle burns, the light shines through the eys. Rather charming, and my mother loves it. I forgot to take her the horse prints so tomorrow I will surprise her with them. Maybe she will let me eat cake for lunch.
I ate some pomegranate at work today.
