Dec. 16th, 2001 01:42 amTonight just worked out right. Melynda and I took off for Houston's, which is quite possibly the best restaraunt I've eaten at in ages. We dressed up, ordered drinks, and ate steaks. Talked and talked and talked, and talked more with our handsome waiter. He turned out to speak some Russian, which was vastly amusing.
Afterwards we had planned to see Harry Potter, but the Alamo North was packed. Wound up driving down to Metro to play cards with Matt. Several rounds of Shanghai Rummy later, Melynda had an unprecedented losing streak and I had broken our record for the number of wild cards. Quite fun, quite happy. I lounged in the metal chairs in my black slacks and red shirt, feeling so delighted with my little world. Saw the wonderful boys of SoB, and talked a little with them.
Matt and I ran to Vulcan for movies, and I talked him into renting The Hunger. One of my favorites, and not just because of David Bowie. We drove out to Magnolia to watch the boys and eat. (I ate so well today, it's crazy.) I know I keep saying it to everyone, but Matt is so much like me. When he took me home we both said "See you later" at the same time, and laughed wildly at how the fog made the overpass into a bridge into forever. It makes me wish I was a young gay man.
I'm home, and happy.
