We came home so early tonight, and I didn't play any cards. Endured the annoying, loud guy at the next table, and concentrated on producing withering glances. Saw the handsome boy again as I was leaving, and for a moment I was tempted to stay. Rather chilly out though, and I only had on a tank top.

Home and comfy now, with my Golden Snitch socks on. Writing away in the darkness of my bedroom, trying to acheive a delicate balance.

I'm going to spend all my Christmas bonus on presents. Yes. This is good.

On my way home from work, I witnessed one of those small acts of human kindness that makes me think there might still be hope. In the grocery store, a man with slightly graying hair and thick hands like my father's bought a six pack of Corona and two dozen carnations. He chatted a little with the girl at the register, a blonde. Not beautiful, but pretty enough to have a boyfriend who drives a truck and wears Stetsons on special occaisions. I went to high school with a lot of girls like that. Anyways, he pulled one pink carnation out, brushed the petals and said, "And one for you too, Miss." She cried out her thanks, and it made my heart lurch. Odd, odd.

My mail box over flows with happy things. Jen sent me a card, and packaged it with dozens of buttons! How nifty. I've found a button already that I've falled in love with, and I think it will somehow work it's way into my story. Metal, with a simple art deco design. Also a card from my grandmother, and a present from Patrick. I feel terrible that his gift will go out late, but it took me so long to find something for him.

Must work some on my story, and eat biscuits. Work at too early tomorrow.
