I've managed to avoid the elf's gaze for a time, and work on my story of wizards. Oh yes, it's wicked fun. I might even conjure up the spirits of David Bowie and Rasputin for cameo appearances. Miss Ang, you know that I do blame you? I do thank you too.

My ankle aches, though I would rather deal with the pain than the itching sure to come. I'm not a patient person. What hurt the most yesterday was when John would wipe the area off, pressing down on all that tender flesh.

Cleaning the apartment a little, baking, writing. A nice day it would be if I didn't have to go to work. The clouds have my sense of time all off.

Last night I slept well. I feel myself, something closer to real.

I enjoy taking care of the tattoo. There is something about taking care of my wounds that pleases me, deep down inside. This one is special.

When I got to work, someone had cut the Legolas action figure from the cover of a recent issue of a Toy Fair and taped it to the buy counter's computer stand. Kevin's name was also taped onto it, as some of my coworkers have noticed that he does in fact have pointy ears. I teased him a little, and felt some relief knowing I wasn't responsible for that prank. I couldn't live it down. Now I just want that action figure.

Work was the long pointless period it usually feels like. At one point we had a half hour wait at the buy table, which isn't so bad compared to some recent days. This hippie girl in her flowing shirts and skirts comes up with one National Geographic video. She hadns it to Jennifer at the counter and Jennifer paiteintly explains that we operate on a first-come, first-serve policy. I was about to offer to do the buy myself, knowing that waiting for a half hour to learn we were probably only going to give her $1 would suck. Except that she chose that moment to get bitchy. Huffy attitude and glaring don't help your cause one bit, especially here. She finally snatched her video back and flounced off. Good riddance.

My feet hurt a little. Slippers don't provide much support for a day on one's feet. At least my toes were warm. My ankle is slightly swollen, which I think has as much to do with my feet being warm and the blood circulating properly as anything else. I recieved several compliments on my tattoo today, and even swung my leg up onto the counter at the register to show a customer who expressed interest.

A guy, of an indeterminite age somewhere between 14-20 spent 4 hours sitting in the aisle playing with Wishbone stuffed toys and looking at a book of trains. Creepy. His mother finally dragged him out a couple minutes after close, and when I left they were still hanging around outside.
