Last evening, sitting in Metro after the brief showers, Gene spent some time folding and refolding the last page of his paper for that Czech literature class. In the end, it turned into a rose, with even a stem and a leaf. He also gave me a copy of Two Murders in My Double Life, one of the few Skvorecky novels I do not already own.
We came back to my apartment, and wound up spending the better part of an hour helping Sam search for his keys. Which turned up in an odd place, even for something lost. Gene went home soon afterwards, and seems determined to go to work today. It's Saturday, most certainly not a day for work.
Kevin is in town, and I'm going to pick him up in a few hours. We have a year of conversations to cram into the next three days. Hearing his voice last night, I realized how much I have missed talking to him. He's something like a wiser, older brother to me. Since I can't find my swimsuit this morning, I'm going to have to run out and buy one so we can play tennis in the pool. I want Gene and Kevin to meet as well. Not only do I think they would get along quite well, it would feel as if my past and my present clicked, that things connected somehow. I'm not sure why that feeling is so strong.
I dreamed last night that I had an enormous birthday party, and there were many livejournal people as well as my waking world friends. Public Enemy was playing and I was so vastly amused that my friends had booked that band. For the meanwhile, our horoscope for the day.
