anything not too heavy to carry
Sep. 19th, 2002 11:48 amRaining. Raining, with the sunlight slipping through the cloud layers in a way that completely changes the angle of the light. I find more and more that the subtle changes in the angle of the world to the sun affect me. Something in my nature must be plant-like. I need a certain amount of sunlight. This is why I was never a good goth girl.
Gene made the joke the other night that "light reading" constituted anything that wasn't too heavy to carry around. I also made the unfortunate remark when discussing Philip K:
"I like Dick."
"Can I quote you on that?"
Ack. The worst part was realizing how that sounded about half a second after it left my mouth.
But yes, maybe I should read Anna Karenina again, because I have that gorgeous new translation, or maybe more distressing 20th century Russian novels. Though I recall saying I would make the attempt to read more Salinger this year. More books, more books.
