Oct. 14th, 2002 05:33 pmThe mystery of the water in Melynda's bathroom was solved when I ran into one of the neighbors this morning. Apparently a pipe burst in her house, upstairs and to the left of us. It completely flooded her apartment, and caused the ceiling to collapse in the apartment below her. (The poor woman was out of town.) The complex management came into her place and ransacked it, threw all of her belongings around and didn't even leave a note! She thought she had been robbed at first. They were also in our apartment and used Melynda's towels to soak up a small amount of water that seeped over here. Ugh. What a nightmare.
Work was again enjoyable and fun. I packed lots of extract kits, milled various grains and learned about odd little parts one needs for home brewing. We had a disaster with one of the coolers up front where we keep beer for sale- it was switched on too cold, and half the beers froze and exploded. The only upside of this was that I got some free, unexploded beer out of it. I also took out all my aggressive, angsty feelings on helpless cardboard with a box cutter. Fun fun fun. Petted Vinny, the cute little cat living there, and it was a nice day altogether.
