Went to the Draught House last night with Thomas, and we ended up talking for awhile to this charming fifth grade girl. Her father was there with some friends, and it reminded me so vividly of my own childhood, talking to parents friends, going to bars with my dad. She was rather sweet, and I never did learn her name. But one has to love a kid with a penchant for Roald Dahl.

Stayed up late talking about a thousand and one random things. I might drive Melynda to work in an hour, so as to use the car today. Should buy some Halloween candy.

I am vastly amused I have the cell phone from that weird Hello Moto commercial. It figures.

The air is electric and cold and crisp. Perfect Halloween weather. I need to redye my hair, and dig up more batteries for the digital camera. I'm not really doing anything til Saturday night, but maybe I'll just wear my costume for the hell of it today.

I'm watching The Lost Boys again. Yay for 80s vampire movies.

Halloween

I wore my costume all afternoon, because the apartment office was having a contest for the best one, and just because I felt like it. Hey, maybe we'll get $50 off the rent for my sweeping black grandeur.

Spent the day in Metro, playing cards and reading Les Liasons Dangereuses for the umpteenth time. Rachel brought us some candy, and Kim wore her devil horns, which are quite sparkly and red.

Gene and I sat for a time reading in the dusk, while a parade of kids in costume stopped for coffee before their revelry. I did see one guy in a fantastic Indiana Jones costume, and it made me smile. We ate Chinese food and came home, where I am watching Spawn with the sound off and listening to the new Tori Amos album.
