into the wild

My aunt sent me pictures from a recent training exercise with her dog. She does search and rescue work way up on the West Coast. I had no idea it really was so pretty. They just recently picked up a digital camera, so I've finally gotten to see my aunt and her super smart dog.

Melynda's snoring on the couch, and I'm thinking of putting Gosford Park back in for another run. But I may just clean the bathroom. I should have gone out tonight instead of coming home. I have the urge to be in Metro. Or somewhere, anywhere, with light and music.

These photos of the arrests today made me cry. There's something about them that makes my heart ache. Maybe it's just how young so many of them seem.

I had nightmares last night, of the war, of rotting corpses and so much death.

But we go to sleep now. In search of better things.
