May. 3rd, 2003 12:21 pmWhat a lovely and utterly strange day.
First I treked out to Columbia and spoke with Professor Popkin about their graduate programs. I'm in love with academia all over again. It's brilliant. I want to go here so badly and I think I have a shot. Afterwards I was almost giddy with the thought of it, walking around the grassy spaces of the campus.
Spent an unholy amount of time waiting on line for last minute tickets to La Boheme tonight. It was worth every bit of discomfort. Phenomenal sets, unbelievable in their size and shape and the movement and dear gods above that was the most amazing thing I've ever seen on stage. I'm not certain it ever occured to me that opera voices were real, that they can fill a room that way.
Food consumer today: awesome french fries with garlic aoili, chicken nuggets, and mushroom ravioli. I think there is a chocolate cupcake downstairs with green icing callling my name...
