my old friend fear and you and me
Jul. 3rd, 2003 03:57 pmEverything's gone white, everything's gone grey
I'll never forget where you're at
I'm happy. And it's alright.
A front came through and the temperature has dropped by about twenty degrees. It's beautiful out there, breeze, and dappled sunlight. I could stay in this state of waiting, this afternoon, for a long long time you know. I am singing more than I ever have been lately, in the house and in the car. The boy smiles and I steal his belt and we stand in the shower hip to hip. I turn on the phone in the morning to check the time because there are no clocks. We smoke too much together, and we stay up til dawn. The fridge has butter, blueberries, olives, and beer.
I'm not even certain I can quite write down all of this lately. I've spent a great deal of time explaining my situation to a few of my friends and I still don't have an easy stock answer yet. So all this is just going to become a series of snapshots from behind my eyes. Which are green, with a shadowed hazel ring in the center.
