good morning
Jul. 25th, 2003 12:26 pmFor a brief moment I felt like I was back in college. Living on three hours of sleeping, working late into the night, smoking in the parking lot.
To backtrack, Alan slept in the back seat while I braved the madness of Interstate Highway 35. We lunched with Cate and several members of Hays County law enforcement at the greatest little Mexican restaraunt. We heard all about the case they just wrapped up that morning, and when they heard about the engagement everyone began suggesting places for weddings and talking about rings. They're a grand bunch of people, and you can tell they work well together.
We hung out in Cate's office, hearing all sorts of interesting things, seeing strange attorneys, talking about wedding stuff and bowling and friends and love. Alan thinks she is one of the neatest people ever and spent all night telling anyone who would listen. We're going out to the Little House soon, and Cate has promised to go dress shopping with me, and it just all feels right.
The other night at work we had our quarterly meeting, and it seems I have perfect accuracy so far. So I have a nice little printed certificate with my name on it that says I'm commited to excellence at the company, and supposedly I'm getting a bonus. Pretty nifty. Work proceeds, slowly. I'm hoping to find more enthusiasm so I can work some overtime.
Not to mention we need to clean up the beer bottles from Wednesday's D&D game. My dear little sorceror got whapped in the head, but he did alright for himself. Killed things, didn't die, learned about the creepy necromancy practicing little girl who trapped them in the catacombs... Fun stuff really. Stayed up way too late but it was alright.
