Aug. 15th, 2003 01:57 amThe NY Times has strange and beautiful pictures of the darkened skyline at sunset. It's a weird sight, and there are quotes in news stories from people boggled by the sight of starry skies over the city. It must be strange.

Relax from your recent bout of tense uncertainty. Slowly unclench
yourself as the day goes by. It's hard to believe that your efforts
are paying off, but the evidence is all around you. Parties that once
stood on the brink of war are now trading favors like civilized human
beings. Elements that never matched are orbiting each other in
strange but appealing harmony. You see the old obstacles in a new
light. You didn't do it all, but you did enough to get the ball
rolling in the right direction. Certain people that once opposed your
methods can be your friends again.
I am filled with a heavy lethargy, for no real reason. My skin's breaking out and I feel self conscious about it. I have a beer and a cigarette, and I think I would like to just lay down for awhile. I'm very much in love, and it still hits me when I look at him. I'm going to get old with this man. What a thought. Maybe it's that right now causing me to feel overly emotional, maybe I'm just overtired from work and staying up too late.
