I think the greatest thing about being in love this way is the feeling that you know that nothing could take this away. It's knowing that we can fight, and we can disagree, and in the end that doesn't change what we are to each other. It's a hell of a lot easier to forgive now, which is remarkable.
We have fought, and I imagine we'll probably fight again in the future. However, when it's over, it's forgiven and we go on. That's something I never quite managed in my previous relationships. Much as I tried, I couldn't forgive. I couldn't even tell you what's so different here, except that it is Alan, and this is love. It's different now, and I'm different now, and maybe it really is all going to be okay. I never believed anyone who told me that you know. But yeah, maybe this time it is real.
