I woke up this morning, intent on finding my cell phone and sprawling outside in the sun while I talked to Rach. As I walked into the living room, I heard my neighbors making noise upstairs. There was a tremendous crash, screaming, and then sobbing from the woman up there. It was her wailing that woke Alan up. I called the police, as usual. I am always the person calling the police. We could hear them screaming at each other up there. Thank god for the 311 line.

In short order there were two units at my building, and I directed them up to my neighbor's place. The screaming was audible outside. Over the course of the hour, I saw three more arrive including the domestic violence/crisis team. I directed them upstairs and kept on with my conversation. It seems now that everyone is leaving, as I saw the EMT person and a few officers escorting the woman away. I am relieved to some degree that they've been seperated, though I wonder what the hell that was all about. I'd rather they didn't know I was the person who called the police as well.

In happier news, it's Rach's birthday. I really should mail that present. And since I'm awake now, I might as well do something productive with my day.
