this is happiness
Nov. 8th, 2003 06:14 pmOutside, it's been raining all day, and it's 54 degrees. Chill and wet, not worth venturing out into for anything. We slept late, in our green dark room where the hours pass slowly. Rach and I talked on the phone until our batteries died, and though I did the laundry my day has been lazy. In the close warm light of lamps and computer screen, we read and exchanged few words. Alan's cooking now, bacon wrapped beef filets, giant portabellos, and asparagus. The kitchen smells of garlic frying in olive oil. It is perfect, you know.
Last night we left work early, stopped in a bar for a drink before D&D. Alcohol seems to fuel some of our more outrageous exploits and thank our lucky stars for that. Alex pulled off a crazy shot to divert the battering ram log that would have otherwise sunk our boat. We were attacked by crocodile men and pygmy trolls. Meier is getting better at that fireball. It's a good trick. After negotiating the safety of our boat, we set out for the temple. The episode ended with the door opening.
