Inspired by Cate's post, I will now attempt to list ten good things I've done in my twenty three years. Most of my things aren't earth shattering, but I like to think they helped in some way.

1) I helped my mother nurse several sick and/or injured kittens back to health and happiness. Most notable were the just born pair who stayed in a basket beside my bed at night. I would wake up every couple hours to bottle feed them because their mother was still recovering from major surgery to save her life. Also the tiny tortie kitten with a broken shoulder that my mom made tiny splints for, which had to be frequently changed so her leg would develop properly. She walks without a limp now.

2.) I ran up an enormous phone bill in my sophomore year of high school having all night conversations with a good friend who was only a year older than myself. He graduated extremely early and went off to college, where he had a nervous breakdown. I spent a lot of time trying to convince him that life was worth living. The last I heard, he was in Spain shooting a movie.

3.) I called the police on my sister. It needed to be done. I don't regret it, because the experience really opened her eyes to the life she didn't want to be living. Last weekend I had an actual conversation with her for the first time in years.

4.) When friends are in need, I've tried to be there. Whether they need money to go to the doctor, a safe place, a friendly ear or just time, I've tried to give it to them.

5.) I've taken a number of drunk people home to prevent them from driving.

6.) I try to always leave a good tip when I eat in restaraunts. My mother worked in a truckstop diner before I was born and told me horrible stories. I've had many friends who worked in services industries where they suffered incredible insults and bad behaviour from the customers. Those jobs are hard and frequently thankless, and it doesn't take much to be kind. I'll never know if it makes a difference, but I like to think it does.

7.) I spent a night driving a friend all over town so he could find the perfect gift for his girlfriend. It was a lot cooler than homework.

8.) I called RAINN and drove someone to the hospital when no one else believed they had been raped. I've never talked about it before, mostly because that story isn't mine to tell.

9.) I took care of an old woman's cat while she was in the hospital over Christmas. My mother helps this woman out a lot because he kids are good for nothing jerks and she's all alone.

10.) The past few years I've participated in various charities that purchase clothes and toys for kids in the community who wouldn't get anything otherwise. Ever since we moved to Austin, my mother has been involved in the Coats for Kids drive, and every year I've given a coat or two to them.

I hope I do more in the years to come.

Very early actually, as I have already done my workout, vacuumed the living room, played with the cat and settled down to complete my character sheet for Canadian Jason's werewolf game. I have to call him Canadian Jason to seperate him from my other DM Jason.

The freezer door was partially open when I got up, and a number of things had melted or thawed. Hopefully I won't have to throw out too much.

The workout was easier today, a little bit, and I don't feel nearly as sore as I have all week. I hope my body is starting to adjust. I made it through all sixty crunches at least. I am starting to feel somewhat better about it.

Melynda called last night and convinced me to apply for another evil wizard since my original game is defunct. Soon I shall be chock full of RPGS, and happier for it.

For lack of good html skills or a useful character sheet generator, it looks like I'll be typing up my stats. La.

Aside from getting up early and my workout, I've yet to accomplish much of anything today.

There are hysterical rumors floating around town that Governor Good Hair Rick Perry and his wife are splitting because he's having an affair. Sadly, I am more interested in this than I really ought to be, but anything that might bring that man down a few pegs is good thing in my book.

The most best part is that his alleged affair is with another man. Wouldn't it be grand if Bush's protege Perry got divorced and wanted to marry his lover?

Why are there so many bastards in the Austin Community who whine and moan about every post that isn't to their taste? It's bad enough the mod has a bit of a God complex about the community and that there are so many splinters because of the number of things we're not 'allowed' to discuss in there. Lighten the fuck up, people. Get over yourselves and move along. Remember the power of the scroll button!

In more cheerful news, I recieved a big box of chocolates in the mail today. The cup is super cute, but I have the worst luck with plates and saucers. Maybe I can glue it back together. Anyhow, I will now go enjoy my daily ration of chocolate goodness.

The wife of a coworker on the day shift works at the courthouse, and Anita Perry has already filed for divorce! Quick, we must alert Matt Drudge!
