On Sunday, we went over to Sarah's new place which is very high up. It has a nice view of the trees, and I like the place a lot. There were delicious chicken fajitas, strawberry pie and chips. We made sure there was a lot of alcohol as well, so I think we spent a good eight hours drinking, eating, talking, playing cards and dominoes and smoking way too many cigarettes. It was merry.

I think my alcohol tolerance has done some odd things. I can drink more than I used to be able to, but then I can't sleep. This is so not acceptable.

This afternoon I gave books to Tyler, Rachel, Sarah and Melynda. We met up at the theater to see Spiderman 2, which is fabulous fun. The opening credits are well designed, a work of genius. The movie has such energy, and I will have to see it again. Alfred Molina is one hell of a Doc Oc, and the arms! So cool.

VH1 has the top 100 bizarre metal moments on now. This is ridiculous, and oh lord Sebastian Bach has actually put on some weight! He's not the creepy skeletal snake man anymore Cate! Man, Alice Cooper is really funny.

I had this poster in my bedroom for seven years.

Tipped off by Sarah, I am watching the Behind the Music special on Guns N Roses. Ahh, it's strange to watch all that old blurry club footage. They were the first rock band I became obsessed with, back when I was a kid. They were the first concert I ever saw, on what was their last real tour. The sound of cassette tapes in my little jam box was so tinny and small compared to all that noise. I had a lot of posters, bootleg albums and live concerts, and tshirts. They were the first people I ever wrote fanfic about, as embarassing as that paticular admission is. But there you have it.

It's creepy to watch the interview footage of Adler. The damage from a cocaine induced stroke has paralyzed half his face and slurred his speech. He looks quite wrecked, even worse than Axel's strange plastic surgery.

I love the old MTV footage. This reminds me of being very young, and just beginning to think about things probably much too adult for my twelve year old self. How could I not love those videos, so overdone and crazy? Jumping off an aircraft carrier and swimming with the dolphins? But I don't know, it all meant a lot to me back then.
