Dreadfully worn out by yesterday, I slept for nearly twelve hours. Alan didn't fare so well, he was up and down all night long. I think he's gone off to try and nap.

We did a bit of cleaning earlier, and Alan has moved his computer desk into the larger closet in the bedroom. The best thing about this apartment is the large amount of closet space. I hope we can find something like it around San Marcos. Our lease is up at the end of September and not October like we thought. So at the end of August, beginning of September we'll need to secure another place to live.

I finally figured out why the cat paws at the cabinet doors in the kitchen. I just found a mouse inside the cabinet. I think there's a hole somewhere in that cheap woodwork. It got away, despite me throwing the cat bodily into the cupboard after the damn mouse.

Damn those mice.

It was terribly hot today, so I stayed inside until the sun was well down the sky. Picked up some fans to keep Alan's new closet office cool, and cinamon chips. I melted the chips down and I'm making spritz cookies with my cookie press. I wanted more flavorful cookies, so melting cinnamon chips and mixing them into the dough seemed like a good idea. So far, so good.

edit Melynda, you really need to tell Krista and Heather that the bakeware they gave us for the wedding is the most awesome stuff I've ever had. My cookies are coming out perfect. end edit

I had a really interesting phone call late this evening. If it works out, it will mean a hell of a commute until we move.

By the way, if you make more money than me and my husband combined, if your parents pay your rent, or you otherwise have some great good fortune don't even think about coming to me to complain about money. Just a thought.
