Waking up this morning was one of the nicest mornings I've had in ages. The cat was sitting on my elbow purring and the inscrutable feline face was mere inches from my own. Alan's hand was thrown out to rest on the kitty's back. Since we got out of bed, the cat has been racing from one end of the apartment to the other.

Ahh lovely lazy day. French breakfast with Melynda, a buttery rich croissant, scrambled eggs, bacon and a potato galette. Mmm delicious. Much lazing in the sun and on the couch. I've been watching the Olympics all day. I'll watch sports I never care about, like volleyball. One of the women on the US team was six foot seven! The Chinese girls were fierce. And of course, the beginnings of the men's gymnastics. Got to love the men in the tights performing the tricky floor routines with the leaping elements. Bring on the Russian team and Alexi Nemov!

I was very lazy and took an afternoon nap. Sarah called from SeaWorld! I have not been to SeaWorld in ages. A long bath later, a cup of coffee and all seems okay with the world.
