what dreams may say
Aug. 28th, 2004 09:29 amI stayed in bed too long this morning, willing myself to finish a dream. It was one of those things that felt more real than real, and I knew I had to be dreaming or travelling backwards in time. At the time, I believed.
It was all about a friend of mine, one of her lovers, a plane crash, a house by the river and new condos built on the other side. I even dreamed about visiting the therapist's office during a storm, and the river runnning up so high. How the plane fell out of the sky and destroyed his car on the night he meant to leave her, and how I convinced him to stay until the police and military jeeps and ambulances were gone. How we slept together and it's the strangest thing of all to feel so real, as I've not once ever slept with someone involved with my friends. He had a smile and an accent that reminded me of someone I knew a very long time ago.
I wish I could describe it better, or that I could have recorded the whole dream. It took a long time to shake the feeling this morning.
